Home staging makes homes sell faster.

If you don’t feel like staging the whole home, at least stage a room.

Perhaps your living room is a family’s entertainment retreat with a big screen TV, fireplace, and the furnishings to make you comfortable. Hide everything that is a momento or trinket. Then set out a snack and dip tray on the coffee table, maybe with glasses and cans of soft drinks, paper plates and napkins like you were ready to entertain. Light the room as if you’re about to watch a big game. Create the illusion that the room is ready for guests, when the time arrives. This image will stick with the buyer.

You might have put together a dream kitchen. Once again, do a thorough cleaning and decluttering. Think about if you had to cook for a party, but didn’t make a mess. You can bring your kitchen to life with just a few flowers!

Focus on the dining room. Put a fresh flower arrangement out and put out your best dishes.

You may have a great bathroom, and want to accentuate it. Set the scene as though you were planning on a long soak. To ensure the relaxed feel, you can put a book or a glass next to the tub.

Maybe your kid has a great room. Play this up! Clean the room, but set all of the toys aside.

Maybe outdoor living is one of your home’s biggest assets. You can add life to a pool with some floating toys, or put a cooler of drinks on the patio.

Once you have fun with one room, you can do others. This week you can do the living room, and next week you can do the bathroom.
